Harlem Week 2021

TIGRESS

This young girl wanted her face painted as a tiger, her father wanted no paint on her eyes.

So I gently outlined the outter eye socket and under the nose with white then let her choose her favorite colors.

I loaded up a sponge with my favorite Mehron metallic blue and a vibrant purple then added black squiggly stripes.

I added some details to the nose and finished up with white whiskers.

For a more dynamic adult look.

Outline the brow temples, around the eyes and on the lids,  below the nostrils, and the jaw side’s below the cheek bones with white.

Use black eyeliner around the eyes top and bottom.

Then take your colorfully loaded sponge and create a w pattern across the face starting from the right temple middle forehead. Take the same sponge and cover the nose, cheeks down to the nose edge.

The nose tip should be pepto bismol pink and the nose should be outlined below the pink color in black forming a v shape.

The bottom lip should be black as well.

rounded ears with white insides and white whiskers

No stripes on the center of the face only around the outter edges

For a more realistic overall look. this takes a lot more time and should cost more. But the overall look is worth it.

For a more eerie look paint the eyelids yellow with a black dot at top of eyes so that when the eyes are closed it looks like the tigress/tiger is staring out at

Mermaid

In this design I chose to put tail fins on each cheek and create scales on the forehead and added some iridescent pixie paint glitter for water bubbles with a Mehron metallic pink lip.

how I enhanced this design for several other children I added a crab, a school of fish, a starfish or seahorse and of course sea kelp and coral.

How I enhance it for adults I add eye shadow and liner to eyes in complementary shimmering colors and add blush before adding sea creatures.

Under the sea themes are the most fun and super versatile.

Mermen

For Men and boys

I usually paint an angry shark around the mouth and paint scales on the forehead in non shimmering colors.

My favorite sea creatures for men are blow fish, octopi and wales.

I use yellows, greens, blues and sometimes red.
